"When people talk, listen completely. Most people never listen."

Academic Mentor

Combining several years’ experience in scientific publishing, and my own academic background as an English Literature student, I’m excited to bring my varied practical and personal experiences to the team at Dallington. I am on hand to help with essay writing and am always happy to share my strong grammatical and analytical skills to aid a mentee’s academic journey. I love the process of making sense of our thoughts and feelings through the written word, be it in an academic or emotional sense, and I try to share this enthusiasm with my mentees.

I also have six years’ experience of voluntary roles in the mental health field. Through this, I am skilled in active listening and emotionally supporting others, as well as having detailed awareness of safeguarding and managing risk. I have facilitated support groups bringing together people who have experienced bereavement, working to create a safe space for the participants to hear each other’s stories and share their own.

My experiences so far have led me to mentoring at Dallington, where I hope to continue growing as part of this unique and inspiring team. I work to build a warm and trusting bond with mentees, working one-on-one with clients, allowing space to explore, reflect and learn together. I have great understanding of the power of truly listening and encouraging a mentee to explain what they’re going through, in their own words. My belief is that this approach provides room to set goals, gradually leading to mentees feeling more fulfilled in themselves and their relationships overtime.

Outside of work, I love to discover new films, music, books, and find interesting places to wander. I am always trying different vegetarian food and I enjoy quality time with friends and family.
