"When people talk, listen completely. Most people never listen."

Mentor

Combining several years’ experience in scientific publishing, and my own academic background as an English Literature student, I bring my varied practical and personal experiences to the team at Dallington. I love the process of making sense of our thoughts and feelings through the written word, be it in an academic or emotional sense, and I try to share this enthusiasm with my mentees.

I also have seven years’ experience of voluntary roles in the mental health field. Through this, I am skilled in active listening and emotionally supporting others, as well as having detailed awareness of safeguarding and managing risk. I have facilitated support groups bringing together people who have experienced bereavement, working to create a safe space for the participants to hear each other’s stories and share their own.

My experiences so far have led me to mentoring at Dallington, where I continue to grow as part of this unique and inspiring team. I have great understanding of the power of truly listening and encouraging a mentee to explain what they’re going through, in their own words. My belief is that this approach provides room to set goals, gradually leading to mentees feeling more fulfilled in themselves and their relationships over time.

Outside of work, I love to discover new films, music, books, and find interesting places to wander.
